The Whale Has Entered the Building

No Rain, Nothin' but blue ski

What? No rain, no snow???? Where are we?  Las Vegas, Nevada.

We stopped in St. George and a wonderful young man named, Mitch, help us decide what to do with tires on the Whale.  We had warranty papers for the 4 rear tires and we just made it under the wire to get a rebate on them, so we got 6 new tires.  We were back on the road in less than 2 hours and arrived in Las Vegas around 2pm and we missed the bad afternoon traffic on I15.

Las Vegas ahead

Out of the mountains and into the desert

We pulled into the South Point Casino on the south end of Las Vegas Blvd and unhooked the Tail from the Whale.  Drove over to see Mom and Dad for awhile and then headed out to our parking spot while we stay here.  My brother, Dave, has been friends over the years with Mel and Marilyn Larson.  They have a beautiful property just south of the "M" Casino.  We drove on out there and we were given the royal treatment.  What lovely people and they had three guys that work for them help us get parked and set up.  They even helped Craig with the electrical and water hook ups and it wasn't even raining.  In fact, it didn't rain all day AND the temperature went into the 90's.

Here's a fun thing.  The Larson's were very good friends with Ernest Borgnine, for those of us who are old enough to remember him. We are parked in the spot that he used to use when he came to Vegas.  Earnest passed away last year at 95.

Here's our private setup just outside of the office area.

The Whale feels like Shamu in it's own private pool area!

We had a great visit with Mr and Mrs Larson and then picked up a pizza and salad and headed back to Mom and Dad's.  Dad wanted us to spend the night with them, but we are getting used to our new home and feel pretty at home in the great surroundings.  We plan to be here for a couple of weeks.

Thanks Dave!!!
