Last Few Days with My Folks

We are starting to gear up for raising the stabilizers and starting back down the road again.  We have been in Las Vegas for 17 days.  We have had a good visit and have been able to do a few projects to help them out.  Dad is battling bone cancer and mom gets worn out as the care giver.  They could both use our prayers. Mom turns 88 on May 29th and dad will be 87 in June.

We cooked a 20lb turkey during our stay and ate several meals from it.  Craig suggested we make Turkey and Noodles instead of Chicken and Noodles ....which is a coveted family favorite.  It was a great meal AND mom has sent two frozen bowls of it to go with us on our journey.

Turkey and Noodles

Yesterday we spent some time cleaning up the Whale.  We used a product that cleans and waxes all in one and we were pretty happy with the way it came out.  It is a "whale" of a job, though.

It's really in great shape for a 1998.  I used some WD-40 on the decals to bring some color back into them.  I'm sure there is a better product... let me know if you know of one.

Today we start to get organized and we will head out first thing in the morning.  We'll take our time heading back to Aurora, CO to spend some time with family there.  We also may leave some unneeded things in the storage unit and pick up some things that we would like to have.  It's a bit hard to know what clothing to take with when we don't know when we'll get back to storage again.

Today we don't want to forget to pay honor and gratitude to all of the men and women who lost their lives fighting for the freedoms that we have enjoyed in this country.  I also woke up thinking about the ultimate sacrifice, Jesus dying in our place and taking upon Himself the sins of everyone and the curse that we brought on ourselves.  His death gave us life and life eternal!!!  What an exchange!!!

Life eternal and freedom.  Does it get any better than that?

Blessings!!
