Just Checkin' In

I thought I would let family and friends know that we are doing fine here in Las Vegas.  We have been busy with projects around the house for Mom and Dad.  Currently, we have photos out from under the bed, up in the closest and down in the closet.  We hope to organize them in some fashion and then scan them all into digital photos and cut down the amount of boxes.  We also would like to help mom slim down on the clothing in the house.  Dad has gained weight, mom has lost some and there is just not much room for all of those "extras".

So, that brings us to the fact that we have decided to stay over the Memorial Day weekend.  We just don't want to head out until we have things put back in order.  We'll head from here back to Denver for a week or so before going on up to MN for a bit of long awaited fishing.

I was drawn toward the Operation Blessings Volunteer site this morning as it never seems right to just "go about business as usual" when so many people are suffering.  Perhaps this is something we can do in the future and something to pray more about.

Today will be a bit different.  I am married to a Trekie and he has SO been wanted to see the new movie.  I can't remember when we went to the movies last, but today may change all of that.  Currently, my Trekie is cleaning all of the carpets (which isn't much) and the furniture in the Whale.  We borrowed mom and dad's shampooer and he is going to town.  I'm using the kitchen sink as a desk and just trying to post what's been a happenin'.  The Star Trek Movie is a 11am, not far from us.  THEN, tonight we are having an early celebration of mom's 88th Birthday with a dinner out if dad is up to it. Her actual Bday isn't until the 29th.  If you would like to send a card to encourage her, this is her address:
