I couldn't help thinking of my dad today as we drove through Kansas City, Missouri, singing that song that he liked so well.
We started out from our Walmart parking spot at 5:30 am in a little bit of light rain. We were thankful once it got light out to see that the worst of the predicted storm had missed us.
Approaching Kansas City.
Kansas City Chief's Stadium
Topeka is just down the road from Kansas City.
The Missouri River
We drove over 400 miles today. That wasn't the original plan, but we rarely stick to any plan. We got in lunch and a little rest and the temps were down because of cloud cover most of the way.
We were glad to see the Triple J RV Park in Russell, Kansas. Not sure if these are reindeer or what????? They are in the miniature golf coarse that doesn't look too used.
Here's the street where we live for tonight. I'm looking forward to a shower and a good night's rest. Tomorrow's plan is to go another 250 miles down the road and maybe stay a couple of days. The Whale could really use a bath and some wax.
Hope you didn't have to Labor too hard on this Holiday.
Blessings,
Kathy
