Pueblo to Aurora, Colorado

Wednesday we drove just 109 miles to our last stop for at least two weeks in Cherry Creek State Park.
Below is Canon City.. pronounced "canyon".  There's a prison there and the Royal Gorge.

We took the back way up to Colorado Springs and it's a very pretty drive in the Rocky Mountain Foothills. Pikes Peak is snow capped.

Coming into Colorado Springs from the southwest

Once north of Colorado Springs, you pass the Air Force Academy and it's famous Chapel.  There was a plane doing a touch and go on the runway as we went past.

It's less than an hour drive from Colorado Springs to Denver.

We passed through the city of Castle Rock.  It once was a small town, but has grown so much in the last few years.

Coming into the city of Denver we past the "Tech Center".  We turned off on I 225 to get to Cherry Creek State Park.

This is one of the best State Parks we know of.  I hope to write a blog just about the park soon.

We got things set up and Craig's brother, Chuck came out to have a quick lunch with us before we headed over to help Barry and Tana removing the old and installing a new water heater.
We ate dinner with them and went to our grandson's ballgame.

When we came back to the Motorhome around 9:30 pm, there was water running out from underneath the Whale.  That is NEVER a good sign.  We had tried the ice maker and it was working while we were in Pueblo, but the 1/4" plastic line somehow came off the water filter and poured gallons of water everywhere.
I went out and bought a shop vac and we got busy extracting as much water as we could.  We have had fans, heaters and chamois working on getting it all out for two days and I pray that we have gotten it all.

Yesterday we got to see our oldest grandson, Carter swim for his High School team.  He did a great job. He's the one on the stand on the left.

He beat his own best time and came in second in the 500 meter freestyle.
Here's the last few lengths of the race.

I took a picture before Barry, Tana and Craig were ready for me to.

I let them have a retake.

They were very loud, but I enjoyed the pep band.  I played in the Crown Point, Indiana High School Pep Band. My first year in the band was fifty years ago.  That's just not right.  Seems like just a few.

Hope that your days are becoming "Spring-like".

Blessings,
Kathy
