Verde Valley

We drove about 2 1/2 hours today with the Whale just north of Phoenix, but south of Flagstaff to a nice RV Park called Verde Valley near Cottonwood, AZ.  We had to pick our own spot and it was not easy to do because there were so many.  Our phone reception is shaky, but we can get texts and we came down to the activities room to pick up on the WiFi to upload the pictures that I took today.  So here's what the drive up looks like. It was a bit overcast today, but still in the 70's.

We are in a spot and we will be able to move over to the outside one on Sunday if we want to.

We are sticking nose forward on the second spot over in the middle of the screen and hope to move to the first spot on Sunday. The Verde River runs just behind us.  We'll hike down there tomorrow.

This is one of the paths that goes down.  I was by myself and decided I would wait for Craig and go another time.

There's a bluff across the river bed.  It is cooler here at night, so things haven't bloomed out like they have around Phoenix.

There's a house built near the top of that mountain.

So, that's all I know for now.  We are so looking forward to exploring the area in the next month.  Everyone says to go to Jerome, so we have that on the list.  This park doesn't seem quit as friendly as Tier Drop, but it's only our first day here.  We are looking forward to what the Lord has for us here!

Hope the snow is melting and flowers are getting ready to bloom up north!!

Kathy
