Cottonwood to Sedona

We got down into the 30's during the night.  It was good that we have an electric blanket.  The RV is only a step away from a tent if you don't run the propane heat.  So, Craig gets up and starts the heater before we get out of bed and it's all good.

We decided to go out the trail that drops into the Verde River bed just behind us.  At times the River is really wide, but it's just a nice river, even after they had rain last week.

After a steep down hill and having to crawl down a small tree.  We reached the river bed.

This grassy plant that I don't have a glue of what it is was about 15' tall.

Craig is like a tree planted by the river at 6'.

The river was a bit muddy from the last rain.

The wild life is abundant.  There are geese in this shot over near the other bank.

We came back from the hike and got in the car to ride into Cottonwood and then on up 89A to Sedona.

We could see the Red Rocks ahead.

Sedona straight ahead.  It's only about 17 miles from Cottonwood.
We drove into the Wyndham Village where Tana and the family will come on March 29th for the week.  So, we are exploring and finding things that we can do while they are here.

We walked up to the Church of the Holy Cross.

The cacti are in bloom.

This is the drive (drop off) back down into Verde Valley RV Park.  The large mountain in the background is where we drove to.  What a gorgeous job the Lord did for all of us to enjoy!!!
We got back down on 179 and drove through Cornville.  We stopped to get gas for the Honda and there was a guy putting gas in a can.  I asked how Cornville got it's name. There is no way that corn is going to grow in this soil.  He said it was mispelled when they registered for the city name.  He thought it was supposed to have an H in it somewhere.
He gave us a name of the jeep company that we should go with and also a place to horseback ride.  It was a great day!!!

Now, we are sitting in the Rec Hall to use their WiFi and listening to a DJ that is playing 50's music.  People are coming in all dressed up, so I think it's time we vacate our computer terminals.

Dance yourselves happy,

Kathy
