Over the Mountains and Over the Dam to Mom's House We Go.

We had a nice drive from Cottonwood, AZ to Las Vegas today.  We drained the water out of the Whale and left it alone in the spot we have been in and drove up through Sedona.  We drove up 87 all the way to Flagstaff.  We wanted to see if Tana could take driving down from CO that way.  There's about 20 miles of very curvy roads, so be prepared if you come that way.  I enjoyed the view.  This is what we saw as we came through Flagstaff, though.  Snow in the mountains and a bit of wet on the ground with a bit of snow in the grass, too.  The temp dropped about 20 degrees.

We stopped for a bathroom break and a cup of coffee in Williams, which is where you turn north to go to the south rim of the Grand Canyon.  It was pretty chilly there, too.  We missed driving in the Whale because we would have had a bathroom and coffee right with us without having to stop.  It seems strange to be traveling without the Whale.  Craig will be able to sleep in a full length bed, for sure!

This is Kingman as we came into town.  As you approach the Nevada border you begin to see the Colorado River Valley and know that you are coming up on the new bridge that bypasses the Hoover Dam.

Once you enter Boulder City you can see Lake Mead.

It was great to see Mom and pass on all of your hellos to her.  She has been playing Candy Crush on the Kindle and she has been stuck on one.  So, Craig was helping her to get past the jellies.

On the way up, we got a text from Ray and Midge that they were making dinner for us.  What a TREAT!!!  Who could turn down a dinner like they put on.  They had Seafood Fettuccine and it was SO good.
After eating, it was a beautiful evening and we were able to sit outside by their pool and hot tub and visit.
Ray and Midge, you're the BEST!!!

Back at Mom's and enjoying sitting in her recliners and watching some cable news.  I wonder how many theories they will come up with before the missing plane is actually found. I so feel for all of the family members that are waiting to hear the fate of their family member.  Praying the answers come soon.

Kathy
