Last night we were missing Ron and Carolyn that we met at Canyon Lake. We just left them on Monday and they drove to another remote campground and we have been more in town so we could stock up and do laundry. They invited us to drive out and spend the day today. It was SO wonderful. After finding it on the map, we were just 14 miles away from where they were parked.
This is the Salt River. In the heat of the summer there are people that ride in tubes down this. It was a little muddy after the big rains they had last week. Everything is so green and pretty.
As soon as we got there Ron had spotted a small group of wild horses and they allowed us to stand across the river and enjoy them.
There were eagles flying in and out of this steep rock.
We decided to go on a hike up the mountains. What a view we had. We walked up and along the ridge where we saw the eagles and they entertained us with soaring high above.
Saguaro cactus look so tall as if they are standing guard over the desert activities.
Carolyn and Craig were leading the way and Polly, the dog was right behind. She had to stop to take care of an itch.
We were above the rocks where we had seen the eagles.
We had a great walk, and a great salad lunch when we got back to their RV. We so enjoyed our time of fellowship and trek through Coon Bluff, even if we did get a bit off trail here and there.
"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles".
Tomorrow morning we drive up to Cottonwood.
Blessings,
Kathy
