Turtle Racing Day

Tana and Cooper fished in the little boat with me for a while this morning and we caught several fish.  It was cloudy and cool today, but it never rained.

Longville, MN is the Turtle Racing Capital of the World.  They have had these races (to bring vacationers in to town) for more than 50 years.  We started out with a trip to the Pizza/Ice Cream Parlor.

Registered and ready to race turtles.

The four grand kids were all in the same heat against each other.  Collin tied for first place.

We went back home and decided to go out fishing again.  Collin caught the first Crappie and it was a keeper.

Collin and Kyra fished with me this afternoon.

Here the kids are holding the catch of the day.  We caught lots of Rock Bass and Northern Pike, but we didn't keep them.

1 Jumbo Perch, 1 Walleye, 1 Crappie, 2 Large Mouth Bass and 4 Small Mouth Bass.  Craig fillets them and they are in the freezer.
Tomorrow will be another day of fishing.

Blessings,
Kathy
