Yesterday's Birthday Lunch for Todd was thoroughly enjoyed and then the guys packed up and headed back to Crown Point. What's for lunch? Fish.
They made it back safely after running ahead of those bad storms that cut across the Midwest yesterday. We miss the boys.
We went out fishing for awhile this morning. After all the rain, the sun was shining and it was almost HOT. We caught several Pike and one nice Walleye that was 20". Guess what we had for lunch?
We really needed to do some laundry, so we headed the four miles in to Longville, MN, which by the way, is the Turtle Racing Capital of the World.
We had a little ice cream treat while we were slaving away.
We had some time this evening to go back out for awhile. We went through the channel over to Wabedo Lake. Today my dad would have been 88 and Wabedo was one of his favorite fishing spots. We caught a few pike and had a couple other great bites, but we mostly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.
Minnesota Birch trees in the evening sunlight.
Buzzards roosting in the tree.
Craig brought in the smallest Northern Pike we have ever seen.
We got back in before dark and got ourselves ready for an hours drive over to Grand Rapids, MN in the morning to meet my College Roommate and my Matron of Honor and her hubby for breakfast. They live in Indiana, but are up here fishing and visiting their son. We are looking forward to seeing them.
Blessings,
Kathy
