Val Vista Village

The Whale is happy and so are we!  This is us second on the right in our spot on 3rd Street.  This is a huge RV Park.  We are told there are 1600 parking spots at Val Vista RV Village.  We have enjoyed the pool and being able to walk around the park.  The people are so nice and our neighbor across the street gave us grapefruit right off his tree.  We never realized how many snowbird/retirees live in AZ.

What a great lunch we had the first day we were here.

Betty T is my HS buddy and the one we went to help with her place in Illinois last Aug.  She was down in Scottsdale visiting her sister, so we drove up there Tuesday afternoon and had a nice visit with her and her sister who was about six the last time I saw her.
We realized that we had to be pretty close to my brother, Dave's.  So I called him and he gave us his new business address.  We were 4 miles from him.  He gave us a tour of his Classic Car Shop and we ate with him, so it was a great day of visiting.

It's a huge building with lots of great cars that they buy, restore and sell. The show room is actually an airplane hanger. It's adjacent to the Scottsdale Airport.

Dave also collects memorabilia.  This table and chair set was what I ate around as a kid.   When opening the leafs and sitting five of us at the table in our kitchen, you could not walk around the table.  So, after eating, when we were excused to go outside, we would have to crawl under the table to get out.  My parents had this table for years and even took it to Las Vegas when they moved there and used it as a table on their porch.  I remember dad coming into the house each night after work and sitting in one of these chairs while he took off his shoes.  We also kept a fish bowl on it for a while until we all got tired of cleaning the bowl.

I love seeing all of the beautiful blooming flowers and plants around here.  This is a Park Model Home.
We came to this particular park because of Midge and Ray.  They are friends with Mom in Las Vegas and we have gotten to know them.  They are the couple that put in a new hot water heater for Mom a couple of weeks ago.  They are going to a Spurs game and had made plans to come here and told us about it.  We get to watch their two cutie dogs Friday night while they see the game.
We had a nice dinner together and then played Pinnacle by flashlight and candles.  What a pleasant evening.  We were nearly too full to enjoy the strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Midge, Ray and Craig.

The dogs were perfect angels as they stayed in their beds.... well, they had two, but they preferred the buddy system.
My cousin, Janleen is substitute teaching today, but then we hope to see them tonight.  While visiting on the phone she told us about Canyon Lake Marina and RV Park.  So, what a great way to find our next spot for next week!!!  We made reservations and head there on Monday.  We hope to be able to do some fishing while there.

Love and blessings to you,
Kathy
