Fix and Repair and Cards and Eats

It was a short, but winding drive from Mesa to Canyon Lake.  We stopped to get gas and filled up the propane.  Midge and Ray drove up Monday afternoon to see what the lake camp sight looked like.  And it was good to see them again.

We noticed a slight drip from the hot water heater drain plug when we were ready to leave Mesa, but decided to wait until we got to Canyon Lake to fix it.  This is what the piece looked like after we got the two parts out.  The cap was actually broken off from the threaded part.  Craig used a metal file as an "easy out" to get the broken part out without messing up the metal threads of the heater.

The plug is supposed to be one part like this.  Thankfully, we had a couple of extra 1/2" plastic plugs and some Teflon tape.  So once the Whale's spout was plugged up again, we refilled the tank, turn it on and all is good.

This is the outside door into the water heater and the plug is over on the left and hard to get to around the gas line.  We are thankful that the project ended well and the drip is now dry.

Craig celebrated by a short nap in the shade looking at the lake... with his eyes closed.  I set the table and got ready for a visit from my cousin, Jan and Stacy.

Stacy and Jan used to come up here during the hot AZ summers to relax and cool off with a swim in the lake.  They are the ones who told us about the lake.  I didn't think many people knew it was here, but there are all kinds of tourists that come to the Marina and take a paddle boat ride around the lake.

We relaxed and told stories of old before firing up the grill.

We played a game or two of Push.

Jan brought salad, potatoes and shrimp and we only supplied the beef and asparagus and we had a very nice meal.
We plan to go back to Jan's and park at her place and finish our cupboard hanging project for Monday night until Wed. And then, it will be time to head up north to Cottonwood near Sedona.

We have met several of the other campers and it's been very interesting.  Our neighbors were German and had this Motorhome shipped over from Germany and are touring the States for 16 months.

There are Canadians here and also new neighbors came in last night from Alaska.  We also met some local people who bring up their RV and a very nice pontoon boat.  They are taking us out for a "3 Hour Tour" tomorrow if the weather permits.  It's beautiful today.

There's also a very nice couple here from Indiana, just north of Indy.

The view is gorgeous, the weather and company have been great and we are enjoying the water!!
