We took part of yesterday and part of today to get things ready to move 170 miles up to Mesa, AZ. We started with doing all of our laundry at the outside machines. We even stripped down the bed to the mattress and washed all of the bedding. It is not an easy thing to make an RV bed.
Then we defrosted the frig and freezer. The RV Frig works on 12v/120v and propane depending on what we are hooked up to. It actually pulls the heat out to cool. Not sure that I understand all of that, but this one does not defrost itself, so the back of the unit and top freezer need to have some mild heat applied to "defrost it". It doesn't take long since it not very large.
We have learned not to buy anything that needs to go in the frig/freezer before you use up the same thing that will make room for the new one.
We also eat hard boiled eggs and we have this little egg cooker that helps make quick work out of the project. We have tried many methods to help the eggs peel easily... sometimes they peel better than others, but we haven't decided why. Does anyone have a full-proof method?
The Park has it's own Pastor and Interdenominational Church Service that we have really enjoyed. Sweet People and sweet fellowship. This is Shirley V and she has touched our hearts and lives and I feel like I have a new sister.
Al and Geri on the left are from Colorado. I they have been ever so kind to us. Her family used to own the land in Fruita, CO that the State Park now occupies.
We made a run to Yuma to pick up a few groceries and said good-byes to our new friends and neighbors. It would be a wonderful thing to come back next winter and see them all again.
It was a great night to take a few more pictures around the park. This park model has some lovely roses and petunias growing.
The Helds have been our neighbors on our east side. They are from Montana and they have been coming here for 20 years. Wonderful family and the older brother, Jack is fighting cancer. Please pray for him. He will be getting PET Scan results tomorrow.
We had a nice visit with this family tonight and then ate dinner and finished putting away all of the outside chairs and grill. Just as we were getting ready to head in for the night... the Lord put on this farewell for us.
This has been a peaceful and relaxing time for us. Craig always fits in some extra rest whenever he could.
We'll leave here around 8:30 am and are going to stop by to see Janleen Hortyk (my Irish cousin) before we pull into the Val Vista RV Park tomorrow afternoon.
Good-bye Tier Drop Park. Hugs to you all!
Kathy
