We are starting to wind down our month here at Tier Drop RV Park. This has been a great place to relax, visit and do nothing or have all sorts of activities. We have certainly enjoyed getting to know many Canadians. If fact, when you meet someone new they start by asking, "Are you Canadian or American?". That has been a different experience for us.
We have enjoyed our time at the pool and after swimming laps we sit and look at the blue sky. Instead of trying to decide what clouds look like (because there aren't many) , I found myself looking at these tall palm trees and doing the same.
This one looks like a person facing to the right... maybe a Vegas Show girl? Or an Egyptian.
The one on the right here reminded me of Gonzo from the Muppets. Life has been tough here as you can see.
I took some sunset pictures a couple of nights ago.
Coyote Wash is a little Commercial site that's just across I8.
We have had an ongoing issue with our Air Conditioning. We have one line of vents that go to the front area and another that goes to the bedroom. The bedroom would become like a meat locker while the front area just never made it. Last season, we had to place a fan on the floor in the back to force the cool air to the front. We had come to the conclusion that there was something blocking the air flow going to the front vent. Craig had taken the cover off both inside and on the roof, but we weren't able to see where the air ducts attached to see what was blocking the forward air flow. The air still worked, so we didn't want to do anything to break that, but with the temps getting into the 90's here, we knew it was time to get serious about finding the problem. We could get into the electronics from the inside (kitchen) ceiling, but there were spring loaded bolts and we were chicken to take it apart imagining that on our way to Mesa on Monday we would see our air conditioning unit land on the Whale's Tail (the Honda).
Help came to the rescue, which is really an awesome thing about the RV community. Al and John (an airplane mechanic) agreed to come down and take a look to help diagnose the issue. The three guys decided to start taking apart the inside and those spring bolts to see if they could find the obstruction. They did find it and fixed it. It was a piece of aluminum duct tape that had lost it's stick and had fallen down half way and completely obstructing the air flow forward.
A roll of Aluminum tape a pair of scissors and six hands fixed the problem in no time!!! Thank you guys and thank you, Lord.
We attended a Valentine's Dance in the Rec Hall last night with about 150 people from the Park and we actually ran the air while we were getting ready just to enjoy the even cooling!!!
Today we clean, stock up, air up tires and start to move toward the 169 mile trip up to Mesa. We will be staying seven days at the Val Vista Park there. Then, we have 10 days before moving up to Sedona that we aren't sure where we will be going.
Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!!
Kathy
