Moving In, Moving Out

It's Nov 1st and our last day in Cherry Creek State Park.
We have been here 77 days and have enjoyed our time with family and friends.
I have posted most of this on Facebook already, but I have a few people who aren't on there and only get my blog posts, so much of this will be a repeat.
There have been beautiful sunrises and sunsets to take in.

The past week we have spent moving our daughter, Tana and her family of six into their new home.  Our oldest son, Todd, flew out from Indiana to help and what a great help he was!  Although I have recovered quickly from my gall bladder surgery, I wasn't supposed to lift anything heavy or strain.

We spent the first three days getting things moved in from their storage unit and from their apartment.

I did most of the cooking and it took a bit to figure out how to work all of the new appliances.  I ran Lasagna over in the new oven on the first night of cooking.  There's Steam Clean feature that we got to try out.  It worked!  Who has heard of pouring a cup of water into the bottom of the oven?!

It didn't take long for the kids to set up the ping pong table and game room and spend a few minutes having fun on their fall break from school.  The timing of the move was perfect as the kids had a week off school and Barry and Tana took time off from work for a week, too.

We had a record warm October here in Colorado and it was perfect for doing the landscaping of the backyard.  They have two dogs and really wanted to get down sod while they could still get it.  The kids all worked so hard.

They put in the sprinkler system and then moved 20 tons of rock and then dirt and then sod to finish the job in three days.

Tana picked up a used basketball hoop and as soon as it was put together and setup, it was being used.

Her plan is to have sports teams use the house as a "hang out", so we also put together backyard furniture.

The deer herd has been hanging out in the Park and they seem to love to have their pictures taken.

The Whale has been very content sitting in one place since August.

Yesterday was spent putting things away and getting ready to head down the road tomorrow.  We will go back to Tier Drop RV Park in Wellton, Arizona, which is 20 miles east of Yuma.
There was a nice sunset last night to end another very pleasant weather day.  Today is going to be in the 70's.  It's always hard to leave family, but we know we will be back again.  The timing for moving on will be good as there is snow predicted for next week.  As you can see in the above photo, there is snow in the mountains and the ski resorts are open.  It's also the reason that we will take the southern route down I 25 and not take I 70.

We will take our time heading south and hope to get to the Tier Drop by Friday.  We are looking forward to renewing our friendships there.

Blessings,
Kathy
