We had a second day of good travel. It was a fun trip with good weather and hilly driving down I25 south.
Heading out of Las Vegas, New Mexico the traffic was light.
New Mexico is mainly high desert going this way, but then it also has steep inclines and down grades.
The road winds around the mountains of Sante Fe and then into Albuquerque. We had planned to spend a day in Albuquerque, but we are still running south to get out of the path of the wind, rain and cold that is predicted to come in tonight and tomorrow. The traffic was busy going through Albuquerque, so we didn't take one picture of the city.
Craig has the ability to fall asleep anywhere at anytime. He caught a quick nap before lunch and I took a selfie without looking at what I was taking. Craig had his seat belt on and I didn't take my eyes off the road.
We took a break for lunch by pulling into a Walmart parking lot. They had covered parking that was actually solar panels. What a great idea. We ate lunch in the RV in this little town called, Truth or Consequences. I wouldn't want to have to fill out all paperwork with that address! We were remembering Bob Barker's Show with that name.
We took a little cut off that kept us from going through Las Cruses. It was a beautiful drive.
We parked for the night in Deming, New Mexico, at 81 Palms RV Park. It was recommended to us by a couple we worked with at the Cherry Creek State Park. They live 275 miles down the road and we hope to meet them for lunch or coffee tomorrow. We may spend the night in Casa Grande, AZ and see if we can see them and my cousin, Jan, before heading on in to Tier Drop RV Park in Wellton, Arizona. It's on I8 just 20 miles east of Yuma.
I hope you enjoyed the journey. In all of our travels through the years, we hadn't ever driven I25 south of Albuquerque. It was well worth the extra miles that we are driving to avoid the snow in Flagstaff.
Blessings,
Kathy
