We have stayed in many parks and this still is one of our favorites. Now, if they would just chang the 14 days stay out of 45, we would be able to stay in the area much longer.
The parking area is very large.
The deer love to graze on the spring grass.
The geese feel free to roam around, too. Lots of campers have dogs, so they keep a close watch for them.
We had several mornings of rain, so it was nice to see the sun come up and the rain clear out.
Cherry Creek Reservoir is just a short walk from the campground. We used to fish and boat on it during the years we lived in this area and owned the Hardware Store.
The Rocky mountain are in full view from almost anywhere in the park. The lake is 880 acres and the park is over 3300.
It was dark so only the headlights picked up this herd of J Walkers.
The walking/bike paths wind all through the park and are well kept.
There's all sorts of wild life and I took this video of a Wood Pecker doing what Wood Peckers do.
We would like to become Work Campers in this park. That means we would work 20 hours a week each and we would get a free place to park in the volunteer loop. We know if the Lord has this for us, the door will open at the right time. Currently, it's closed and they have everyone they need. We will have to move on May 6th and so we wait again to see what the Lord has planned.
Blessings,
Kathy
