Tier Drop RV Park

We have now been parked in one spot for five days.  We really like it here.  The weather has been nearly perfect with days in the 80's and 50's at night that allows us to sleep with open windows.
The desert can be full of beautiful things.  This is a plant in front of one of the lots here.

We are getting into a routine of going for long walks out around the fields in the area.  The couple that owns the RV Park also farm the adjacent land.  They grow Alfalfa and Seed Onions this time of the year.

They section for fields and "tier" them so they can be flooded with water from the canal system that carries water from the Colorado River.
The earth dams serve for great sandy, hardened pathways to walk on which are easy on the legs.
Cell coverage is better this year and I assume it's because of this tower.

They have a series of flood gates that are opened that water the fields.  I'll have to ask Jim and CiCi again how much it is that they have to pay for the measured water.

The park is just now starting to fill up for the winter, but if we wait until later afternoon, we have the pool all to ourselves to swim laps.

The pool is heated, but we then follow up the swim with this nice covered hot tub.

I took this picture from the pool.  You can see on the second spot on the right in the below picture the nose of the Whale and the Honda parked in from of it.  We are in a cul de sac and so far we only have one other couple living on our street.

The palm trees line the paved entry into the park.

The dessert creates some pretty amazing sunsets.

This will be the longest we have been in one place in the past 19 months besides the four months that we spent at Duck Creek RV Park while we were in Las Vegas with my parents last year at this time.  So, we decided to "build our nest" a bit today.  Craig went up on the roof and found a way to extend our TV antennae eight feet higher and it has greatly improved our reception.  We can now get all of the major networks.
Then we made a nice comfy outside patio area and it's been perfect for sitting out and reading a bit during the day.  We are looking into some sun screen to go around part of the patio to block some of the morning sun.  We even broke out the solar lights.

There is a church service that meets in the Recreation Hall right by the pool, just up the hill from us.  They have a new Pastor this year and we enjoyed the service and the fellowship. They also have a Wed. morning Bible Class that we plan to attend in the morning.  We were only here for the month of January last year, but we have met several of the people that we met last year and it's a very friendly group of people.
Next Wednesday we will head up to Las Vegas (five hours) in the Honda to spend some time with Mom.  We will spend Thanksgiving there.

Blessings,
Kathy
