Into the Warm

We left New Mexico yesterday morning and headed down the road to Arizona.  It was a little windy, but we enjoyed the rock formation as we drove down I 10 to I 8.

We stopped in the below Rest Stop and had some lunch before going on to Casa Grande.

We got to Tuscon just around the beginning of rush hour.

We drove through Tuscon right as rush hour was starting, but it wasn't too bad.  It was tempting to pull over and have an In n Out Burger.

We stayed in Rover's Roost RV Park last night and it was just out in the middle of the dessert.
The weather was nice, so we decided to give the RV and car a quick wash to get off some of the Texas rain and dirt we had driven through.

This morning we decided to drive the last leg into Tier Drop RV Park where we will be staying for the next three months. The scenery began to change as we passed through huge areas of Saguaro Cacti.

We just drove 140 miles with a short stop at an overpriced grocery store for a couple of things and filled up the gas tank in Gila Bend and found our spot and got set up.  The Park is 20 east of Yuma on I 8.  It seems strange to think that we are going to be here for a while after all of the driving and changing spots we have done over the past few months.
This is the park we came to last January through an invitation from Al and Donna whom we meant in Duck Creek RV Park in Las Vegas while helping Mom care for Dad in his last months.

We are just a short walk from the Pool, Hot Tub, Laundry and Club House.  Most of the people here are snow birds.  Al and Donna came by to visit with us this evening.  It was close to 90 when we arrived, but the desert night air has come in and it's cooled down to 70 now and we are able to open windows.

These two units are considered Park Models and there are several in this park.  Many people have been coming here for the winter for several years in a row.
The owners of this RV Park own lots of land around it and they grow Alfalfa Hay by a canal system that they irrigate with.  We are able to walk through the fields on paths and I'm looking forward to getting back into my walking routine.
This is our 19th month living in the Whale.  We have so enjoyed visiting with all of the family and friends along the way and to make so many new friends.  It will be interesting to see how we do here for a long stay.  We will drive the five hours up to see my Mom and spend a week or two with her over Thanksgiving and again at Christmas.  We will be able to leave the RV Parked right here while we drive up there.
I'm not sure how much I will be blogging now that we are staying in one place.  As one of our friends said, "We feel that we know which mile marker you are at".  So maybe it's time to give it all a rest.

Blessings,
Kathy
