Out of the Storm

A major part of that rain storm passed over us during the night and as we got back on the road this morning it was sprinkling a bit and the low clouds looked very mysterious over the mountains of west Texas.  We were driving from Van Horn, Texas to Deming, New Mexico.  We drove about 230 today and got into Deming by lunch hour.  We did fall back another hour to Mountain Time Zone and we'll stay on this until we drive up to see Mom in Las Vegas.  Arizona is a smart state that doesn't participate in the time changes!

We drove along the Rio Grande River just miles from the Mexican Border.  We passed through one check point.

We drove through El Paso.  It's really a huge city and the roadways were fairly busy.

Just west of El Paso we crossed the border into New Mexico.

The mountains in New Mexico are very different from Colorado.  They are kind of strange looking structures.

We arrived in Deming, New Mexico and headed straight to the grocery store.  The little frig was getting a little bare.
We settled into our spot in Low-Hi RV Park.  We belong to three RV clubs where we get reduced rates at certain parks.
Passport America
Good Sam's
Escapees
Two of them get half price nights and one is 10% off.
We took a nice walk around the park and caught the sun as it was setting.  They have some nice little garden areas around this park and some great scenery around it.

We will just spend a night here and tomorrow we head on down I10 to I8.  We still have over 400 miles to Tierdrop RV Park in Arizona so we will split that up and perhaps spend a day or two in Casa Grande just to check out one of the Escapees Parks.

Thanks for your prayers for our Nation and for Jim Valentine.  He is recovering from his very tricky aneurysm surgery, but he came through it and we are still believing for a full recovery and a normal life once again.

Blessings,
Kathy
