We got an early start to the day. The gate leaving the park was closed and it took us awhile to find the gate code on the back of our window sticker. We hit the road early because of the bad weather forecast and we wanted to get as far as we could before it really let loose.
It was a light drizzle as we headed out of the gate...................... once we got it open.
The hill country of Texas is really pretty and through the rain, we took a few photos.
As we drove along, it got a bit foggy, then very windy and then the rain let loose. We decided to go as far as we could just to get through the storm before there was any flooding (which was predicted)
We ended up driving 392 miles and got to Van Horn, Texas. Craig plugged in electric, hooked up the water and sewer and came inside to get warmed up and dried off. There's great internet here and even cable TV so we can watch election results after we catch up on some TV shows on our Roku. I took two pictures from inside the Whale of the Park we are in.
The rain is really coming down, but we are all snug and warm.
Our neighbors were frozen, too. It's 45 outside right now.
We had a nice Skype call with Midge and Ray in Las Vegas, warmed up some supper and we are all set for the night. I think we will be using the electric blanket tonight.
If the rain has let up in the morning, we plan to drive 230 miles to Deming, New Mexico. We'll see how that plan goes.
We have been in Texas since Sept. 29th and tomorrow we will be leaving one of our favorite states. Bye all y'all!
Blessings,
Kathy
