Forthy and Four Years

I have taken a few days off from blogging.... really from almost everything.  We were resting up.  The weather continues to be a bit of a challenge in northern Minnesota.  Yesterday was very windy, but the sun was out most of the day, so we decided to fish.  We caught a few things and enjoyed just being on the water, but WOW it was windy.

We escaped the wind by fishing in the Pot Hole for a while.  We could see fish on our fish finder, but we only caught a couple that we threw back.

We woke up to more wind this morning.  We did some catching up on things around the RV and then decided to take a ride.  We went up to the Federal Dam where we used to go out on Leech Lake with guides and we also used to fish below the Dam for Walleye.

This is the area below the Dam where we used to fish.  It was very easy to get your line caught in the rocks.

They still have a Launch service, but of coarse the prices have gone up from days past.  It's now $65 for a half day and $130 for the day.

This is just the very beginning of the channel that weaves out into a very huge lake.

We drove through the campground that is now by the Federal Dam and we saw this tree that was labeled as a 400 years old White Cedar Tree.

This was just a cool looking road through the trees.

We spent some time at a fishing store in Walker that had about the largest selection of fishing stuff that I have ever seen.
We have been looking for a night to have an Anniversary Dinner.  We celebrated 44 years on June 13th, but finally had a dinner out on July 1st.  It's also our son-in-law, Barry's 40th Birthday.

We ate at Patrick's in Longville and we had a nice table by the window overlooking Girl Lake.  It was a bit drizzly, but still a beautiful view.  We also had ducks and geese and a crane parade by. You can see that the rain here has pretty well destroyed the Peonies.

Our waiter took our picture.

The sun should come out tomorrow... sounds like a nice lyric for a song.

Blessings,
Kathy
