Well, almost nothing but blue. There were a few clouds that rolled around. It was a perfect kind of day today. There was just a little wind and it was around 70. We had a fun morning of catching fish.
Two Walleyes, 2 Crappies and a Northern Pike.
Guess what we had for lunch? Yep, Walleye and we ate one of the crappies, too.
You can see how blue the water and sky looked today and it was so nice fishing without having to fight the wind all day.
After the yummy lunch we couldn't wait to get back out on the lake. After 4 weeks of being here we thought we would be tired of fishing, but we are not.
This is our fish finder and just a look at what I spend a lot of time looking at.
The sail boats from the YMCA look so pretty in the background.
Craig caught most of the fish this morning, but I did catch this small mouth bass that was 3.7 lbs. We let this one go.
Then we saw a few very strange things......
Rock Bass are pretty easy to catch and we don't keep them, but we had to feel a bit sorry for this one.
Notice the chunk taken out of the top of this guys head. He was well enough to bite on the bait and then swim off once we got him free.
Just a little later, I caught this Northern Pike and he had swallowed the hook and bait all the way down his throat. Craig was working with the needle nose pliers to remove the hook and the Pike bit down and held the pliers while I snapped the photo. Then, we had to pry his jaws apart to remove the pliers and hook.
We caught several fish that we released and we just had a relaxing time of enjoying time on the lake. We hope to have another day or two like this before we leave.
It would have been nice to ski on this tonight!
Hope your day was smooth sailing!
Blessings,
Kathy
