We have been parked in front of our Son, Jeff's house for the past 3 days. I haven't blogged much because we have just been enjoying the family time. Jeff fishes a private lake and we were out both last night and this morning and then there was the 4th of July Parade this afternoon. Tonight, we are listening to fireworks all around us.
Jeff and family walked over to the Lake County Fairgrounds to watch the fireworks, but we just needed a little down time and are enjoying the night here in the Whale.

We caught 43 fish last evening and 39 this morning. Fun.
What a good way to follow up a nice morning of fishing... seeing the Crown Point, Indiana 4th of July Parade. We sat in my Aunt Rosie's (mom's sister) front yard. |

Janette (cousin), Todd, Craig, Jeff and Rachel. The grand kids didn't attend the parade because they were at different functions. We enjoyed the family time with a nice cook out at Jeff's afterward. We were missing Tana and her family today.
Why do we celebrate the 4th of July?
I have to say that I appreciate how we honor the military and Vets on the 4th, but hopefully, we all know that is not what this day is about. This day in 1776, we won our Independence from an unrepresented government. This is the day that we became independent and a sovereign Nation. One Nation under God!!
America, America, God shed His Grace on Thee!! |
