Mesa, Arizona from March 13 - 20
We spent a week at the Good Life RV Resort in Mesa, Arizona. We were there to meet up with some of our Colorado family and to watch Collin play in a weekend Baseball Tournament.
We had a nice view of the morning sunrises.
We arrived on a Monday, so we had a couple of days to scout out the area and the baseball park. Tana, Barry, Collin and Cooper flew in and rented a car on Wed.
It's been HOT, so the pool sure felt good to us all.

Derek (Dave's son) and Dave We were all able to get together for some Pizza on Wed. |
We had some time on Thursday to go for a 3 mile hike before it got TOO hot. We went to the Usery Park
The desert is just getting into bloom.
These are called, Teddy Bear Cacti |
The family was staying at a Holiday Inn with a very nice pool. We all enjoyed some time there.
On Friday, it was time for some baseball. Collin plays on the Triple Crown Baseball Association. Teams from eight or so states came to play ball.
Collin (right) with his good friend and teammate, Andrew. They lost their first game and we had time to go for some lunch. I spotted this shirt and thought it would be perfect for any Handyman. |
After a long day, we got back to the RV and had a nice evening swim.
We knew it was going to be in the 90's so we picked up this shade tent that was really a life saver. Several people joined us on our little square of cool.
Dogs, too. This was Simon.
Collin played third base at the first game and then 1st base the rest of the games.
Here's the ball player
Cooper is our youngest grandson and he will be 13 in June. That means that Tana will have four teenagers and three in High School.
Cooper plays football, although, he is also a good baseball player.
Mesa was all abloom.
The Colorado family flew out on Sunday evening and we began to get things ready to head on down the road. We started the day with one last Arizona sunrise and hit the road by 7 am.
We took a scenic route out route 60 by Apache Junction, through Globe and then to 70, crossed into New Mexico and down I 10 to Deming, New Mexico.
This mountain near Safford, AZ, looked like it had a bit of a snow cap.

We like to go only 300 or less miles a day, so it takes a a while to get to our destinations. We have a tentative plan to see friends in Midlothian, TX on Thursday. Then, to Gun Barrel City and on to Bonham before starting a trek towards Indiana. We hope to have time to stop and see friends and family around Nashville and then make a stop at the Creation Museum in Kentucky to see the replica of the Ark. We will contact friends as we know more of a time schedule.
Then, will spend some time in our home town of Crown Point, Indiana and time with our sons and maybe work a bit while there, too.
It's the first day of spring! The temp here is currently in the 70's. We are now on Mountain Time Zone.
Blessings,
Kathy
