Old Acquaintances Are Good!

It's the first Sunday of the New Year, 2015.  It's been a pretty amazing start to the year.  I haven't blogged much because the Whale is still park in Wellton, AZ at the Tier Drop RV Park and our travels have been done in the "Tail" (aka Honda CR-V).
In my last post we left Mom in Las Vegas and drove over to Anaheim, California to see family.  We had a wonderful dinner at the Rain Forrest Cafe with our daughter's family and our oldest grand daughter who lives in San Clemente, at the Rain Forrest Cafe.  We spent the night and then headed back to the RV on Monday, Dec. 29th.
I'm in wonder with the desert southwest.  It is so vast and so desolate and yet, so productive.  The canal system from the Colorado River brings life to the valleys.

I had heard of the Salton Sea, but had not been by it or around Palm Springs where so many people vacation.

Friends from Colorado also are full-time RVers. We had stopped in Lake Havasu City on our way up to Mom's to see them.  They are working their way to Corpus Christi. They came by to spend 4 days here at Tier Drop.  We gave them a short tour of the area and had lunch at Jac's Whistle Stop in Tacna, AZ.

We had a Prayer Breakfast on Saturday morning.  It was a good time of fellowship and good food and a good message.

We were glad that Dick and Pam joined us, even though it was an early morning activity.

Yesterday, the four of us drove into Yuma (20 miles west).  We went to the outdoor Market and purchased a few things, saw "Unbroken" at the theater and picked up a few groceries before heading back.  Dick and Pam invited us over to their 5th Wheel for supper and it was good, too.

Dick and Pam will be heading down the road on Monday.
Our friends from North Salem, Indiana have been working their way across the south trying to get to some warmer weather.  They should be getting in here by Tuesday.  Our freezing night temps should be over now and Arizona will start to have spring like weather.  It's why so many "snow birds" come to this part of the country year after year and I must admit that we enjoy it.  Two or three weeks of winter weather is enough for me.

Praying that your New Year has gotten off to a great start!

Blessings,
Kathy
