Blog #393 Travel to AZ. First day to Kingdom City, MO

We had a good day of travel today, but it wasn't without a few struggles.  We heard rain during the night as we were parked in the Bethel Church parking lot so we could have the Honda hooked up and ready to go.
Parked and packed Whale

Parking lot Prep for morning

We were awakened a couple times in the night by rain and thunder.  It stopped long enough for us to head out of town before dawn.

We were able to watch the sun bouncing in and out of the cloud cover.  The roads were dry for us all day.  We passed through a lot of farm land and farmers out harvesting before the rain came in.

I love the old silos and storage barns you see in the Midwest.

We crossed the Mississippi River and then the Missouri River just as we got in to St. Louis.  The traffic had been light until we reached the big city.  There was some road construction, but also many newly paved roads.
Craig was struggling with an electrical issue and the frig sometimes doesn't want to auto shift between AC and LP.  The Lord had mercy on us and they are both working fine tonight.

We had pre-planned to stay at one RV Park, but they were full when we called so we had to drive on to Hansen Hills in Kingdom City, MO.  It's an old and rustic park, that was 1 1/2 miles of gravel road to find it, but it's been comfy.  We had the heater running for the morning in the RV and then the air and still have the air on.   It's humid and 77 here in the words.

Squirrels nest just above the RV.

Two ponds

If you have a pond, we will fish it.  We had a couple bites and I had a small bass on the line until I was about to bring him in.

I heated up some left over Crab Stir Fry and we have just enough WiFi here to upload pictures to put in a blog.
Day 1 of 3 going to Aurora, Colorado.
It seems a bit strange to be living back in the RV.  Things seem smaller that before and I still will need to deal with the "mini-bake" oven.  I had time to cook up and freeze several meals ahead of time.  The freezer and frig are FULL!!
We're praying that the possible rain storm that is supposed to come through here tonight moves just far enough north not to be an issue.

Blessings,
Kathy
