Mount Rushmore

It's our second day in Rapid City, South Dakota.  The weather started cool and we were at the License Bureau before 7:30am.  We have South Dakota Plates and Titles on our vehicles.  We do this through a Mail Service called Americas Mailbox for full-time RVers.  After three years of being on road, I guess we qualify.  We needed to spend at least one night here in order to get our driver's licenses here.  So, we went equipped with SS cards, passports, CO licenses and check book.  It all went great and we are now officially residence of South Dakota..... at least for now.
We did some shopping and then headed back to the RV.  We needed to move from one spot to another that will be our home for the next six nights.

Once we got set back up again, ate some lunch and rested a bit, we headed out to see Mount Rushmore.

Drive up to the mountain.

We drove through the tourist town of Keystone and came around a corner to see the Faces of Rushmore.

Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln
We found a place to park in a nice area and took an elevator up to the Memorial level.

Tunnel on the way back down.

A view of Rapid City

We ended the day with a nice meal out. Time for an evening walk.
Just in time for a wink from the Lord in the sunset!

Blessings,
Kathy
