Hots Springs, South Dakota and Angostura Recreational Area

Our Sprint cell phone coverage was pretty bad all through South Dakota.  We were roaming most of the time, so I had trouble with some calls and getting on the Internet.
We left the Rapid City area on Wed and just drove 68 miles down 79 just past Hot Springs to Angostura Recreation Area.  What a beautiful campground and lovely lake.  They didn't rent any boats, so the next time we come back, we'll have to make sure to bring one with us.

We checked in at the park office and saw this Mountain Lion.  It was found here in the park watching a man walking his dog.  They had a debate of what to do and decided that the park owed it to the visitors to remove the cat to this permanent place.
Any time we were out walking I had the thought about that cat coming from around the Lake and wondered if it was the only one.

There's 43 miles of beach around the lake.

We saw one of the "hanging tents" that are popular now. I think we would need to lose some weight before it would work for us.

The campground and lake are busy on the weekends, but during the week these people had the lake to themselves.

We spent two nights in this campsite.  We enjoyed our time even though we had trouble getting level.  We kept in a nose down position that made cooking and waking up in the night a challenge.

Blessings,
Kathy
