Indiana to Wisconsin to Minnesota

We so enjoyed our time in Indiana.  We spent time with family and so many friends and you were all such a blessing.  Bob and Denise were watching two of their grand kids, but they still invited us to their home in Kouts for a good-bye breakfast.  Fresh food out of their garden in always a treat for us!

Denise and Bob
plus Paige, Nora and Tillie.

Denise had picked, cut up and frozen rhubarb for us knowing that it's our favorite thing to make into a pie.  I thawed it out and made a pie as soon as we got back to the RV.  It was so good.  We ate half with Todd and Sara in Crown Point and finished it on our drive to Minnesota.  Sorry, Tana that we couldn't get any out to you.  I'll make you one the next time we are out there.

We left Indiana on Father's Day the 19th.  We had planned a trip to Minnesota to do some fishing and to visit my brother and his wife.  The place that we normally go didn't have any open RV spot, so we had to try a new place.  Our son, Jeff, decided to take a few days off work and drive up with us.  He will fly back home on Friday.

Last night in Indiana

Chicago Skyline
Traffic was good and once we got through Chicago we settled in to a two day 600+ mile trip.

It was nice having another driver.  Jeff braved driving the RV down the highway.  He said that it seemed strange to drive our home down the road.

Wisconsin is a beautiful state and I have to complement them on their good roads.  Probably the best roads we have seen in any other state during our travels.
We drove 400+ miles and spent the night at Six Lakes RV Resort in Chetek, Wisconsin.  It was a great looking place and the lakes were beautiful.  It was too windy to really get out on the lake.

The guys played some cards while I caught up on phone calls and emails.

It was Father's Day, so we celebrated with some cake that was left over from our family party.

Today, June 20th, we had 214 miles to go to our destination.  Our route lead us up through Duluth which gave us a great view of Lake Superior.

We saw this massive bridge that reminded us of the Mackinac Bridge.  The next thing we knew, we were driving the RV over the bridge. It was windy, so it made it pretty exciting.

We crossed into Minnesota and over the Mississippi River.

We stopped in Remer and bought licenses and it didn't take us long to get set up, checked in and out in our rented boat.
It was still very windy, but we caught several crappie, northern pike, a perch and Jeff pulled in a nearly 3 pound Bass.

These are two very happy guys!

We kept enough fish for supper.

Since Jeff is just here until Friday, I imagine that we will spend as much time as possible out on the lake fishing.

We are thankful for the Lord leading us to such a nice campground.  There's even a heated pool here, so I'm sure we will get to enjoy that once we get in some of our fishing quota.

Blessings,
Kathy
