Indiana Happenings

We have been in Indiana since March 30th.  Our son, Jeff, made arrangements with the church he works for to allow us to park on church property in exchange for working with Jeff on some construction projects.  It's been a fairly busy time, but we have had time with family and friends.
We won't talk about the weather accept to say that this is the coldest and most rainy weather we have been in for three years!

It has rained.....

and we have had some sunshine......

We lost my Mom's 94 year old sister, Pearl, in May.

The family all gathered for her funeral.

Pearl's funeral was on the 10th and on the 11th was Mom's other living sister, Rosie's 89 Birthday. Several of her friends and her daughter, Karen (my cousin) had a nice lunch to celebrate.

Aunt Rosie at 89.

My Mom will turn 91 on the 29th of this month.  Some incredible ladies, for sure.  We will miss Aunt Pearl.  Mom came from a family of 11 children and they have two brothers and two sisters still living.

We have been working with Jeff at the Hobart, Indiana church doing lots of remodeling.  This room has new drywall and it's primed for painting.

The Pastor and the secretary are getting new offices made from an old classroom.  We needed to frame a wall and drywall both rooms.  I'm sure glad that Jeff knows what he is doing! I'm mainly on the setup and cleanup crew portion of these projects.

This will be Pastor Dan's Office

We will put in a new drop ceiling, but the old drywall still needed a few patches.

The old cooling unit had to come down.

There is a new hole in the block wall getting ready for the new heating/cooling unit that will be in this next week.

When we are not working with Jeff, we spend time with other family members and friends and we have been attending different churches each week to see people we know.
Our oldest son, Todd, meets us in different places, too.

We attended the funeral services for a dear friend, Patti, last week.  She passed on after a car crash.  The family did a wonderful job honoring a very honorable woman.  We will all miss her, but know that we will see her again since she believes in the resurrection that Jesus provided.

We have certainly had many ups and downs in the seven weeks that we have been parked in Indiana.

The Whale also serves as a Chiropractic Office.  This is one of the "UPS" that Craig experienced.

We attended our granddaughter's Choir Concert this past week. They did a great job.

Craig, Kristen, Kathy, Jeff, Ty, Rachel and Kara (the singing one).

Many ask us how long we will be in Indiana.  Would you believe that we don't know?  The original plan was to be here until June, but it's not like we have anywhere that we "have" to be.  We have also been looking at homes in the area and may find a place and just stay here...... or not.

Blessings,
Kathy
