Oh the Gall

For you that read my blog through Facebook, much of this post will be a rerun from things you already know.  I do have some friends that only see this outside of Facebook, so here's my life this past week.

My view from the Dog Off Leash Area (DOLA) also lets me see horses being ridden by from the stables. The Rocky Mountains make a nice back drop.
We picked out a new portable grill that flips over for a flat surface or this side that is ribbed and made some good turkey burgers a few nights ago.

We enjoy the patio area.  We bought beautiful pansies, but the dear ate them for breakfast.  They are starting to recover, so I hope they can stay around a bit longer.  We haven't had a frost warning, as yet.
Sat was my 65th Birthday.  I had so many wonderful Birthday wishes, but I was feeling pretty miserable.  I have had trouble with my Gall Bladder for years, but seemed to recover after attacks and they were far apart.  Years ago I went in and had all of the tests and they said there wasn't anything wrong.  But, it was just feeling worse than normal and I had pain most of the day on Saturday.

The weather is starting to change and the leaves are changing, too.
Saturday morning the two younger grand kids, Cooper and Collin had a Middle School District Track Meet.  We were there by 8 am and it was pretty chilly, but the sun came out and it warmed up quite a bit.

Cooper did well in the mile race.  He is in the dark blue next to the white shirt.

We were all bundled up for most of the morning.

Collin ran the hurdles.  He tied for first in his heat.  He is the one in blue in the middle.
We went home and had some lunch and a short nap and then headed out to Cooper and Collin's football game at 3 pm.

The plan was to go out to dinner for my Birthday, but I just didn't feel up to it. Instead, we just went home with Tana's family and had some chicken before heading home.  I was so tired that I went to bed at 9pm, but woke up in terrible pain at 10:30.  This was worse than I had had in the past and we made a decision to go the ER in the morning.  By 7am Sunday morning we were at the Parker Adventist Hospital.  They weren't busy at all and I got the best care.  After an ultra sound and EKG they decided that I had some large gall stones that were the issue.  Too bad we don't grow pearls.  Anyway, I was in surgery by 12:30.  Dr. Snyder did a wonderful job with the Laporascopic surgery.  I had a nice room and great nurses.  It was a good thing that I had turned 65 because Medicare had just kicked in for me.
I had so many people praying and all of the prayers were answered.  I haven't had to take any pain medication and outside of feeling a bit run down, I'm doing fine.  They fed me a meal before they released me just to make sure that I wouldn't be sick to my stomach.

Nurse Sharon took great care of me and removed all of the needles and tape so I could go home.
Craig brought me home and I went to bed at 7:30 pm and slept most of the night.  They sent me home with no restrictions accept to not do anything that I didn't feel up to and not to lift anything.  They actually go through the naval with a plastic bag that has a draw string and carefully separate the gall bladder from the bile duct, pull the draw string and pull the whole thing back out through the naval. I am a bit tender there and on the other three entry spots, too.  I haven't had to take pain meds besides some Tylenol for swelling, so I'm looking forward to a couple of days of rest and then trying to finish up my schedule of volunteer work until the 22nd. of Oct.  I should be able to help a bit to move our daughter's family into their new home on the 23rd.

Craig stepped out and took this picture of a rainbow for me tonight.

Thanks again, for all of your love and prayers!

Blessings,
Kathy
