Craig has been working the West Gate Entrance to Cherry Creek State Park. We work the afternoon shift checking passes and selling Passes.
Craig can see the Reservoir from his station.
I work the Gate that is called, "12 Mile". Meaning it was 12 miles from the Denver stage run. Our gates are about 3 1/2 miles apart as the crow flies.
This is the view out the front of my gate facing south.
Yesterday, a bit of a rain shower went by.
The rain made all of the flowers happy.
From our Campsite, we can see both sunsets and sunrises. This is a sunrise.
I have been able to meet with a couple of old friends and have some girl talk and catching up on what has been happening. As I pulled back into the park to get ready for our afternoon shift, there was a large flatbed truck blocking both the entrance and exits of the main east Gate. So, I had to go around the park and come in another entrance. The reservoir has a dam with a road across it and below you can see the lake on the left of the road.
To the right or looking north toward Denver in the photo below.
There is a nice Marina in the park, too.
Friday morning this dear wasn't the least bit worried about us stopping to snap a picture.
We were off work today, but we kept busy with doing laundry, painting the grill and bumper of the Whale, painting some spots on the roof, and rearranging some things in the "basement" or the under side of the RV.
We headed across town this afternoon to watch Carter and Kyra run in a huge Cross County Meet. They have a very large group of students that run for Cherokee Trail High School.
This was the start of Carter's race.
You can see Carter third from the left in sunglasses and blue and white on the far left of the photo.
There is a creek that runs through the park where they ran.
Kyra ran with the girls. They started just 5 minutes behind the boys and they caught up to some of them. They all had to cross through the creek. Both Carter and Kyra did real well in their races today.

We came back through the West Gate and stopped to look at the lake along the way back to the RV.
We enjoyed part of the evening sitting on our patio. The sunset looked a bit like a painting.
We have an owl that we can hear most evening, but this little guy stopped by for a short visit before Mr. Owl came out for supper.
We have been working on a counter extension since we were in Indiana. Jeff helped us and we were just waiting on the brackets so we could get it installed. This will help give a little more counter space to the kitchen area.
It's a Holiday Weekend and we are free from our gate duties. Tomorrow we hope to see the movie, "War Room", do some shopping and watch the grandsons play football.
It will be nice not to labor on Labor Day. Hope you can say the same.
Blessings,
Kathy
