We have enjoyed our time at this little RV park near Vincennes, Indiana. We moved over to a pull-through spot to get farther away from the train noise. This one is much better.
This is my garden. I had two small red geraniums and Carolyn gave me this hanging basket with a white one in it. I planted mine in the planter and they are very happy.
There is a nice pond here and we have done a little fishing.
Craig was catching most of the fish, but I finally pulled in a couple. It's always fun to fish.
We decided to go to a Walmart today to stock up on a few things. We drove to one in Vincennes and it was raining a bit as we went in. We didn't have any plans for the day, so we just took our time shopping and finding the things we needed. We finally went up to the check out lane, when suddenly, the power went off throughout the store. They quickly told all of us to please leave our carts and go out of the store. What!!! Leave all of my hard found items behind. But, we had no other choice. We got to the car and had to work our way out of the parking lot and then through stop lights that were also out. We got out the GPS and looked for the nearest store and found one 20 miles away in Illinois. It was still raining a bit, so we decided we would just go. We shopped all over again and only had a couple of things that we couldn't find. We checked out as soon as we could.
We came to this RV Park to regroup and try to decide what direction to go. Craig broke a tooth a couple of weeks ago and our dentist is in Colorado. We had looked online for availability at the Cherry Creek State Park to park the Whale and there wasn't much until the end of Oct. The neighborhood covenants only allow parking in front of homes for 72 hours at a time. We thought of going to Texas, but we weren't able to reach a couple of friends to see if they would be home. A home on a lake that we had been watching also sold, so we felt that door was closed for now. Tana posted on Facebook a request for a place to stay in Aurora, CO, where we could park our Motorhome. Tana's friend, Wendy, generously offered a place on her property. So we are now set up to spend weekdays at Cherry Creek and go to Tana's or Wendy's on the weekends. We felt this was some direction and so we will be taking our time going from Indiana to Colorado. If we can get there by Thursday we can watch a couple of grand kids play sports and on Friday, Craig can go with the youngest, Cooper to his school's Donuts for Dad's. Cooper's dad has to work and can't make it. Craig also has booked a dentist appointment.
So, now that we have groceries, we will be taking our time and just traveling 250 miles or so a day... at least that's the plan.
That's my story.
Blessings,
Kathy
